Quiet Korea

For most of the world, the hustle and bustle of Seoul is what comes to mind. Nearly half of the population of South Korea resides in the metropolitan area and the last three decades have seen huge numbers of young people leave the rural areas, emptying the small towns.

After spending significant time in Seoul, I found myself immersed in a slow-food focused agricultural community in rural Korea based right outside of Jirisan National Park. The images in this series are a part of a larger body of work exploring this area.
