Katsura Imperial Villa

My work has been hugely influenced by the work of Yasuhiro Ishimoto. His photographs of Katsura Imperial Villa were some of the first photographs I remember being awestruck by. Years after encountering his work for the first time, I was lucky enough to receive an invitation to visit the Katsura Imperial Villa at the peak of cherry blossom season. It was a humbling and awe inspiring experience to be able to photograph in the same place he did so many decades later.
